Small group Australia adventures

Australia Travel Plan allows you to build your own trip by combining a series of small Australia group adventure tours known as modules. These are bite-sized travel experiences lasting approx 2-5 days. By stringing the modules together you can build your own Australia itinerary.

If you would rather explore Australia on your own four wheels, take a look at our Australia self drive holidays. Don't know where to start? We have also created some Australia itineraries. These can be booked exactly as they are, or can be tailored to suit you, perhaps with an extra day on the beach or in the city, just let us know.

Sydney and the Blue Mountains

The cosmopolitan city of Sydney is the usual the starting point for travelling around Australia. Australia Travel Plan can arrange an airport transfer, a sunset cruise past the famous Sydney Opera House and beneath the Harbour Bridge and several different accommodation options in the city. We also recommend a daytrip from Sydney to the Blue Mountains, where you can see adorable koala bears and Australia's iconic kangaroos.

Including Fraser Island, Whitsunday Islands and Cairns

Australia's east coast has some spectacular natural attractions. Explore Fraser Island, the worlds largest sand island, in a four wheel drive. Make your way north to the truly stunning tropical Whitsunday Islands, where you can try your hand at sailing or just relaxing on some of the most beautiful beaches on the planet. As soon as you step into the underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef, a whole world of tropical fish, sea anemones, turtles, colourful coral gardens, and reef sharks will open up to you. Aside from the spectacular reef, the east coast also offers you the chance to explore tropical rainforest filled with giant ferns, hanging vines, waterfalls and lagoons.

Outback Australia & Crocodile Country

Including Alice Springs, Ayers Rock, Darwin and Kakadu National Park

Spend the night under the stars in the Outback desert, drive through seemingly endless landscapes and watch the sun rise over stunning Ayers Rock... it's all a part of the Australia travel experience. For those looking to pick up a few Aussie skills along the way, there's an opportunity to learn how to throw a boomerang, play the didgeridoo and ride a camel in the Outback desert. If you've seen the film 'Crocodile Dundee' you'll know what to expect from Kakadu National Park and the Northern Territory. Take a river cruise through swampland and watch massive crocodiles slide into the water or listen to a bush ranger giving you tips on how to survive in the wild. If you're interested in Aboriginal culture, you'll enjoy a visit to remote Arnhem Land, this is an authentic Aboriginal area where the local culture has been preserved.

Western & Southern Australia and Tasmania

Including Kangaroo Island

These are great locations if you have more time to spend on your holiday. We recommend West Australia to those who are travelling for at least a month, otherwise you'll simply be selling yourself short. Southern Australia is known for its charm and natural beauty. Starting out in Melbourne you can drive along the Great Ocean Road and hike through the mountainous area of the Grampians National Park. Another Australian gem, Tasmania, 50% of which has been declared a World Heritage Site, is a very rugged and beautiful place for walks and hikes. Finally, in Adelaide you can visit the animals on Kangaroo Island and try wine tasting in the Barossa Valley.
